2007 Winter Symposium: Round Table and Panel Discussions: Quality
This was our 3nd annual Manufacturers' Roundtable, and again, over 40 people participated. The range of participants was diverse, including people from three continents, large and small companies and manufacturers and suppliers. The agenda focused on two specific questions:
What specific quality techniques and programs (Pareto charts, 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagram, C&M Matrix, other) have you found to be the most successful and effective in solving quality issues
and
It’s all about Quality (except when it’s about price): What strategies have you found most effective in dealing with the quality vs. price conundrum within your organization.
This theme was continued in the Panel Discussion, where the four panelists expressed their views and experience. The discussion focused around a discussion presentation prepared by panel moderator Steve Hutt.
Panelists were:
Stu Lumsden, Polk Audio
Todd Beauchamp, Apple
Dan Digre, MISCO/Minneapolis Speaker Company
Steve Hutt (moderator)
And to summarize, here's what people said about this symposium topic (taken from the post-show evaluation form):
- Good to share each others ideas & Solutions
- Interesting to hear the other comments
- Very useful, great to hear others opinions
- Relevant and interesting
- This is an enjoyable and useful forum. Good conversation arises in this forum because designers and suppliers
from multiple companies get an opportunity to talk openly.
