2009 Winter Symposium: Training Classes: Christopher Struck

Electroacoustic Measurement - Christopher J. Struck (CJS Labs)

8 hours - Cost: half day $175 (members) / $225 (non-members); Full Day $325 (members) / $425 (non-members)

This is a two-part course. The morning session covers similar content to last year's electroacoustics course - the fundamentals of electroacoustic measurements. The afternoon session will expand on the knowledge gained in the morning session to cover additional topics. Please see the full class outline below. Attendees may sign up for just the morning, just the afternon, or the full day class.

Since the course focuses on the principles behind performing proper measurements, it is applicable to both R&D and production. This course is appropriate for both novices and people with some test and measurement experience.

Christopher J. Struck

Chris StruckChristopher Struck began his career as an application specialist with Brüel & Kjær Denmark in 1986, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1985 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1993 he returned to the US, where he has held a variety of engineering and management positions at Charles M. Salter Associates, GN ReSound, Dolby Laboratories and Tymphany Corporation. He is now CEO and Chief Scientist at his own consultancy, CJS Labs.

He has authored many technical papers, application notes and articles and has provided training and lecturing on the topics of acoustics, signal processing, and measurement techniques worldwide. He is a Fellow of the AES, a Member of the ASA, and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He is on the AES SC-04-03 Working Group on Loudspeaker Modeling and Measurement, as well as electroacoustic measurement working groups and committees in other application areas.
