Training Overview

Training Class

This year we have the most comprehensive training program we have ever offered at an ALMA event in China, covering a range of issues from loudspeaker engineering and design to end of line testing. The program includes:

How to pass a Vendor Qualification Audit - Phil Bunch, Phase Design

Basic End of Line Testing - Paul Wang, RS Tech/Listen, Inc.

Practical Aspects of Loudspeaker Design  - Peter Larsen, Loudsoft

The Basics of Large Signal Parameters - Wolfgang Klippel, Klippel GmbH

Exhibitor Spotlight: Sea Galleon, Klippel and More

Sea Galleon will be showing a variety of new and hi-tech materials for loudspeaker applications including Ferrofluids from Ferrotec, new diaphragm materials  including Aptiv® PEEK Films for speaker diaphragms and voice coil bobbins, Teonex® PEN Films for speaker diaphragm , Curv® Self-Reinforced Polypropylene for speaker cones, Santoprene® Thermoplastic Rubber for speaker surround,3M TufQUIN® Kb- bobbin reinforcement material for higher power handling voice coil and PPTC polyswitches to prevent speaker overload.

Klippel GmbH will be demonstrating the software for its new Scanning Vibrometer (SCN) which performs non-contact measurement of the mechanical vibration and the geometry data of cones, diaphragms, panels and enclosures. It measures mechanical vibration of the transducer, visualizes the vibration behavior, shows contribution to sound pressure output, predicts directivity pattern, separates radial and circular modes, analyzes actively radiating cone regions and detects loudspeaker defects.

Henkel will be exhibiting its range of Loctite® brand adhesives which can be used to simplify speaker designs, improve overall driver performance, reduce assembly time, and improve production efficiency and quality. Henkel also offers adhesive dispensing and curing equipment.

Voice Coil, the leading US publication for the loudspeaker industry will be showcasing three of its publications at the Symposium: VoiceCoil, Multimedia Manufacturer, and the annual Loudspeaker Industry Sourcebook. Stop by to pick up your copy.

Tonwel will be showing its new software-driven compliance testing machine which can perform a complete test to the ALMA test method TM-438 - Test Method for Measurement of the Stiffness of Loudspeaker Driver Suspension.

Phase Design, the Symposium host and sponsor, will be exhibiting its portfolio of products and services for the loudspeaker industry. These include product design and development, QA audits, acoustic and electrical lab services, and prototyping/short run manufacturing services. Phase Design also offers custom-designed process equipment.
