Getting a Visa for China

Most overseas visitors will require a visa to enter China. Please visit the website of your local Chinese Embassy for up to date information.

 

If you are in the US, you can find all the information that you need here at the China Embassy in the US. You will likely want to get a business visit visa.

 

To get this, you will need:

 

1.Your valid & actual passport which must have at least six (6) months of remaining validity with at least one blank visa page in it.

2.One completed Visa Application Form (Q1) with one passport photo (black & white or color is acceptable) glued or stapled on it.

3.An invitation letter from the host company or unit in China, or a letter from your company. Our Chian Host, Phase Design, is happy to issue invitaiton letters. Simply email ALMA with your full name (as on your passport), nationality andpassport number, and we will arrange for an invitation letter to be emailed to you.

 

4. Fees - currently $100 for US citizens. Check the up to date fees.

 

The above must be taken to the the visa office of the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction in which you live to submit the application, or if you cannot come personally, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to come to the visa office of the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction in which you live for the application process. You can find your nearest Embassy of Consulate general in the US here.
