Greetings!
This
week's guest introduction is from Dan Digre, President
of MISCO and ALMA Winter Symposium committee
member:
The
2008 Winter Symposium is shaping up to be the most
comprehensive, information packed loudspeaker gathering
of the year. Whether you are looking to learn more about
loudspeaker design, or how to choose the best adhesive
technology or how to make the most accurate and
meaningful acoustical measurements, you can not afford
to miss this event. You will be able learn from
the leading experts in the unique ALMA training classes
as well meet with others in your field in a Roundtable
discussion to find solutions to the difficult challenges
of loudspeaker manufacturing and measurement. Be
sure you bring others from your organization, too - you
won't want to miss a single session this year! Remember
that Nov 15 is our deadline for the 'early bird'
registration rate, so sign up
today! |

We have just
five tabletop exhibit booths left,
so don't delay - sign up now to secure your spot. We
already have more exhibitors than last year, so its
looking like a great show. Don't let your competitors
have your customers all to themselves! We have suppliers
of components, materials, ferrofluids, test equipment,
design software and more, so there is something for
everyone.
Until November 15, a tabletop booth is only $600
for full members (additional membership fee applies for
non-members). This fee includes a draped table and 2
chairs, a sign with your company name and 2 exhibit hall
only staff passes which include lunch. All you need to
do is show up and put your products and literature on
the table. You won't find a better value
exhibition booth! Please call me at (617) 314-6977 if you
have any questions.

Training Class -
Adhesives
This year we bring you a new training
class - Adhesives:
Selection and Application for Loudspeaker Assembly,
presented by Dan Alb of Adhesive Systems.
In
this half day course, Dan will share his many years of
adhesives knowledge in a format applicable to engineers
involved with both design and manufacturing. The course
will cover some general background on adhesives,
different types of adhesives, characteristics of
different adhesives, surface considerations (including
surface preparation) and application methods.
Other training courses include
"Electroacoustic Measurements" by Christopher J. Struck
and "Practical Aspects of Loudspeaker Design" by Peter
Larsen. More

Round
Table
This years round table
discussion topic is "How to correlate acoustical
measurements between the factory and the
customer."
With no standardization in
acoustical measurement equipment, setup, and
training, the correlation of acoustical
measurements is often difficult to get yet
critical to product performance and quality. The
discussion will focus on how to establish and maintain
correlation and develop the knowledge and trust
that both the factory and customer data is
reliable, repeatable, and accurate. The session will be
introduced by Stu Lumsden, Polk Audio and moderated by
Mike Oslac, Tymphany. To participate in this discussion,
simply check the box on the attendee registration form.
