Greetings!
Attendee Registration is now open, and we have an
exciting program lined up for
you! This year we have implemented online
registration through a third party. This will streamline
the registration process, with a secure portal to
sign up for the event, pay by credit card, and generate
automatic email confirmations.
This automatically takes into account early bird
rates and capacity for the training classes, so it is
important to get your registration in early to secure
your space.

Panel Discussion
Floyd Toole will moderate a
panel discussion entitled "What loudspeaker
specifications are relevant to perception". With
panelists including Matthew Polk (Polk Audio), Sean
Olive (Harman), Steve Temme (Listen, Inc.), Wolfgang
Klippel (Klippel GmbH) and Earl Geddes (Independent
Consultant), this should be an exciting
discussion.

Training
Courses
 This year we bring you
three exciting training courses. On January 5th, the day
before the main symposium to ensure that everyone can
attend, we present Dr. Floyd Toole's full day course on
"Loudspeakers and Rooms - Designing Listening
Experiences". On Jan 6 we offer a "Electroacoustics",
taught by Christopher Struck. This course can be taken
as either a full day or a half day as the basics
will be covered in the morning with more advanced
material in the afternoon. The afternoon session is the
perfect follow-on from last years electroacoustics
course. On the morning of Jan 6, we also have another
brand new course - "Applied DSP for Audio Applications",
taught by Paul Beckmann and Al Clark. Space is limited
in all of these classes, so please sign up early to
secure a seat.

Exhibit Booths Still
Available
We still have booths
available - sign up today! A booth at ALMA represents
the best value in the industry. At just $650 for a
tabletop booth, including drapes, chairs and carpet, it
is an extremely cost-effective way of getting your
products in front of a highly targeted audience. Unlike
larger shows, people have the time between sessions to
stop and talk with exhibitors, and the small and
friendly environment encourages networking.
We serve coffee and lunch in the exhibit hall to
make sure that peple stay in the exhibit area. Don't
miss this opportunity for some quality face-time with
engineers, designers, and puchasing managers from
the loudspeaker industry!
Exhibitors include:
- Loudsoft

Round Table:
Tolerances
You asked for it - you've got it!
In the post-show survey last year, several of you
suggeted tolerancing as an interesting topic for a round
table discussion. This year's subject is "Tolerating
tolerances: Measurements that add value not cost".
We also have a new format for the round table. Rather
than everyone discussing the same question, we have
5 tables of 8 people, each discussing a different aspect
of tolerancing. This means that when the results of each
discussion are presented at the end, there will be 5
totally different presentations which should result
in more useful information being disseminated. You can
secure your spot at the table when you sign up online -
just select the round table and pick your topic.

Online

have implemented online registration for the first time.
This should result in a faster, more efficient
registration process, as it accepts credit card details
at the time of registering (a check can also be mailed).

you will need to enter your member code. This has been
emailed to the main ALMA contact at your company. Please
call ALMA at 617 314 6977 or send an email to
